The countdown has begun !!  Excitement is building for this weekend’s Dubai World Cup meeting in Meydan.  The  Dubai Racing Club have released the list of horses likely to go to post for this weekend’s bumper line-up.

Mike de Kock’s arsenal is 8-strong, including Sanshaawes in the Dubai World Cup, Mars in the Dubai Sheema Classic, Anaerobio and Vercingetorix in the Dubai Duty Free,  Shea Shea in the Al Quoz Sprint, Star Empire in the Dubai Gold Cup, Jalotta in the UAE Derby and Soft Falling Rain in the Godolphin Mile.  South Africa has three chances to shine in the Goldolphin Mile with Soft Falling Rain taking on our duel Horse of the Year, Variety Club (saddled by Cape supremo, Joey Ramsden) and Capital Attraction, who flies the flag for the Ernst Oertel yard.  Those with an interest in Avontuur’s new stud Oratorio will also be keeping a close eye on Military Attack in the World Cup clash.  With so much on the card, there will be plenty of action for South African fans to shout about.
