Friday’s Fairview feature is the second leg of the R600 000 Eastern Cape Poly Challenge.

The first leg, the R100 000 WSB East Cape Poly Challenge 1200, was won by the Corne Spies-trained Cape Rebel, who takes the next step here over 200m further.

The third and final leg is the R100 000 WSB East Cape Poly Challenge 1600 which is run over a mile on Friday 11 May.

If Cape Rebel wins the next two legs, a bonus of R250 000 will be paid to his owner Justin Truter.

A consolation bonus of R50 000 is up for grabs if no horse wins all three legs.

The only condition is that the horse must win at least one leg and participate in all three legs.

Points allocation for the consolation: 1st 10, 2nd 6, 3rd 4, 4th 3, 5th 2 and 6th 1

5% of the bonus will be paid to the winning trainer, 5% to the winning jockey and 0.5% to the winning groom.
