Extreme Choice A Shoe-In For Slipper?

The Mick Price-trained colts Extreme Choice and Flying Artie have drawn ideally in barriers 7 and 5 respectively, further tightening their stranglehold on the market for the world’s richest juvenile race. Gr1 Blue Diamond winner Extreme Choice, who will be ridden by Craig Newitt, remains at $2.80 with the TAB following yesterday morning’s barrier draw.

However, his equally talented stable-mate, and Blue Diamond runner-up, Flying Artie, who will be ridden by champion jockey Damien Oliver, has firmed slightly from $6 into $5 after finally coming up with a decent barrier in gate 5.

Such is their dominance in pre-post betting, the glamour colts’ nearest market rivals are Capitalist (2) and Astern (17) who share the third line of betting at $9.50.

All other runners are at double figure odds. The Anthony Cummings-trained Moqueen is the only emergency in the 16-horse capacity race and is a $101 chance.

The final field is:

1. EXTREME CHOICE (Mick Price-Craig Newitt) 56.5kg (7)
