Festival Postponed

The Eastern Cape Festival of Racing scheduled for this weekend has been postponed to Friday, 23 November and Sunday, 25 November 2012.

The decision was taken after 250mm of rain fell in the four days up to Tuesday this week and with 325mm in the previous seven days.

Phumelela Racing Executive Patrick Davis confirmed that the rain had reached ‘flood proportions’ and that the decision had been made in the best interests of all stakeholders.

The Racing Association Stakes will now be run on 23 November. The entire Sunday card scheduled for this weekend, headlined by the Betting World Algoa Cup, will now be run on Sunday 25 November.

The social programme has also been affected slightly.
Friday, 23 November
The RA Cocktail party with the EC Horse Care Unit auction will still take place after the last race. All RA members invited to the cocktail party
Saturday, 24 November
Unfortunately the Kragga Kamma Golf Course is already booked out,so the RA won’t be hosting the fun golf.
