Fillies Guineas: Tellytrack Adjust Procedures

Top man takes note

It’s been a week since Tellytrack axed the feed on their local racing live feed of the exciting WSB Gr1 Cape Fillies Guineas to switch to a deserted Turffontein.

We vented and expressed our concerns on behalf of a multitude of angry readers.

Earlier this week Lance J.F. Smith CA(SA) the Acting Executive : Phumelela International Operations & Tellytrack kindly responded.

He writes:

I have investigated your concerns raised in your mails re Tellytrack switching from Cape Racing on Saturday afternoon to Turffontein, where it was raining and no racing taking place.

The interruption of racing from the Cape on Saturday afternoon, was only on the SA clean feed and not on TT1 and Channel 249 on DSTV.

This clean feed is sent to all our major international customers, who do not require pre or post-race content, as well as being streamed on Tellytrack.com.

The switch from Cape Racing to Turffontein was in line with our normal operating procedures for the clean feed but the team should have been told or seen that nothing was happening at Turffontein and not switched across.

The standard operating procedures will be changed to stop this from happening again this month. From January 2022 there will be no more double headers and this problem will not arise.

Please accept our humble apologies for the inconvenience caused.
