Flamingo Park offers sand racing at its best

The annual Flamingo Park Festival which forms part of the Supreme Sand Season will be held this coming week.

The festival kicks off on Friday evening 1 August with the Northern Cape Racing Association Awards at the Flamingo Casino to honour members of the racing fraternity who have excelled throughout the season.

On the night, horses participating in feature races will be auctioned with a percentage of the takings being donated to a local charity.

On Saturday, the Northern Cape track will offer more action when it hosts three feature races, namely the RA Diamond Stayers Handicap, the RA Flamingo Mile and the Betting-World Sprint.

The three RA Bonus races on offer will offer an added R10 000 prize to RA members whilst the grooms of the best turned out horse in each race will also qualify for a bonus.

The Flamingo Park Festival offers a great outing and entertainment for the whole family with FREE children’s entertainment on offer throughout the day.

Gates open at 11h00 on Saturday, 2 August. Limited seats are available in the RA Room at a cost of R520 per person including food and beverages.
