Dynasty Gr1 Cover Stars For Drakenstein

Amazing response to syndication

Freeman Stallions have announced the launch of the syndication of Dynasty’s two outstanding, record setting, quadruple Gr1 winning Horses Of The Year; Futura and Legislate for stud duties.

John Freeman reports that the immediate response to the launch on Wednesday has seen most of the shares sold overnight. The remaining shares are earmarked for allocation pending confirmation by close of business on Friday.

The champs will start their stud careers at Drakenstein in the 2016 breeding season.

Futura wins Champions Cup

Another Gr1 win for Futura

Futura has already settled in at the Drakenstein stallion barn and Legislate will join him mid-year.

Freeman explained that the plan is to send Legislate to Durban for another attempt at Gr1 glory in either or both of two Gr1 WFA events there.

John Freeman says he has never seen two horses who have been featured on the cover of more publications and been used in as many industry adverts and features as Futura and Legislate.

His team are compiling a coffee table picture book of the many newspaper clippings, magazine covers and dozens of pictures that have been published as well as some of the incredible pictures recently taken by star equine-photographer Tracy Robertson.

In over 50 press cuttings and cover stories, racing scribes have heaped praise on both of these Champion racehorses’ looks and racing class. CNN recently spent two days filming them for a soon to be released international feature on SA horseracing. Superlatives are the norm in the accolades that have been heaped on these two champions.

Legislate

Legislate

Futura and Legislate are so similar in so many ways: both sons of super-sire Dynasty.

Both won 4 Gr1 races. Futura won 3 Equus Awards and Legislate won 4 Equus Awards – both were crowned Horse Of The Year and both broke track records. Futura set a new track record in the first of his two wins in the Gr1 Champions Cup and Legislate set a new track record in the Gr2 Green Point Stakes.

Dynasty and his sire Fort Wood are two of only three sires in history ever to produce three Horses Of The Year. Dynasty is also the only sire ever to be voted Equus Outstanding sire 3 times. At August 2015 Dynasty and his progeny had amassed 15 Equus Awards.

John Freeman

John Freeman – exciting times

Freeman explained that there are many pedigree similarities between the two Champions. He said that the best part about their pedigrees and physical prowess is that there are so many mares in the SA stud book that suit them both.

With a track record of over 40 years in the thoroughbred industry, John Freeman said that he has learnt that sires are more likely to reproduce their own racing class and that of their sire-line. He said that these two exciting young sires are as good as it gets – real class in looks and performance and make a valuable addition to the South African stallion ranks.

As head of Freeman Stallions, John regularly analyses the sire rankings and their availability. He said that there has never been a more opportune time for young sires to ply their trade.

The four top sires in the present log are all fully booked and inaccessible to all other than shareholders. Four of the remaining top 10 on the current sire log are deceased. Only four active sires with proven track-record are accessible to breeders which Freeman believes gives new sires so much more potential.
