Eleven German group races–including all seven of the country’s Group 1’s–will comprise the German Racing Champions League Series, which will score the first through fifth-placed horses in each race in a points system and offer prizes for the leading horse, trainer and jockey at the end of the season.
The points available will increase 50% for the final race of the series, the Gr1 Grosser Preis von Bayern run on 1 November and the series prizes will be awarded in a ceremony after that race.
The other races in the series are the Gr2 Gerling-Preis on 8 May; the Gr2 Grosser Preis Badischen Unternehm on 29 May; the Gr2 Oppenheim Union-Rennen on 19 June; the Gr1 Deutsches Derby on 10 July; the Gr1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis 10 31 July; the Gr1 Henkel-Preis der Diana on 7 August; the Gr1 Grosser Preis von Berlin on 14 August; the Gr1 Longines Grosser Preis von Baden on 4 September; the Gr1 Preis von Europa on 25 September; and the Gr3 Preis der Deutschen Einheit run on 3 October.
All of the races in the series are over distances of 2000 to 2400 metres.
