Glyn Schofield was suspended by Racing NSW stewards for two weeks after returning to scale overweight in a race at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Schofield rode the Chris Waller-trained Springbok Flyer ($12) in the Cellarbrations Handicap (1600m) into second place behind stablemate Now’s The Time ($2.60 fav). The margin was half a length.

Springbok Flyer was allotted 54kg and stewards took exception to Schofield weighing in 1kg heavy, citing that his indiscretion may have affected the race result.

Schofield’s suspension will commence on Sunday, April 12 and he is free to ride again on Sunday April 26.

Schofield was advised of his right to appeal.
