Met Knives Drawn!

Ladies Day? The only female in the race, Beach Beauty drew 11

The draw for the Gr1 R2,5  million J&B Met to be run at Kenilworth on Saturday 2 February was done at a function held after the official gallops this morning at the racecourse.

The race looks to have been thrown even wider open, with favourite Jackson drawn at 5 and his rival Pomodoro at 8 – a barrier described by Sean Tarry as ‘perfect.’

Gavin Van Zyl’s SA Classic winner Slumdogmillionaire secured the paint with a 1 draw, and he is expected to improve even further after an excellent L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate effort.

International commentator David Rafael represented the connections of the  luckless Justin Snaith-trained Run For It, who drew widest at 16.

Cape champion trainer Joey Ramsden was pleased with Bravura’s draw of 6 , and philosophically said that the only 3yo King Of Pain’s 13 ‘could have been worse.’
