Horseracing expert Robert Bloomberg has suggested punters tune in to Tellytrack (Dstv 239) at 08h00 on Saturday morning to get all the information required to enjoy a profitable day at Kenilworth, where the J&B Met takes pride of place.

Robert Bloomberg – the sun only shines on tv
Bloomberg is a guest on the Under Starter’s Orders show, which will be previewing the twelve race programme on Saturday morning.
Media icon Dave Mollett, who will be at the Met, was more forthcoming about his choices.
“I advised taking the 33-40 a place (first four) about Captain America in the Queen’s Plate and – despite nothing going right for Brett Crawford’s runner – punters collected. I am advising place support for the same horse in the J&B Met – punters need to shop around to see who is offering four places. There’s no law either against backing two horses in a race and I’ll also be having a small each-way wager on Weiho Marwing’s lightly-raced raider, Mac De Lago,” said Molly, who is carded for his second knee replacement in less than a week.

Philip Goldberg – rates Tarry
Professional tipster Philip Goldberg, who has watched more J&B Mets than he cares to remember, said that he was a ‘Tarry man all the way’.
“Our champion trainer is not shy to win the Met,and he has an outstanding chance this year. I believe we have not seen the best of Legal Eagle. Even a blind man could have seen how unlucky he was in the 2015 July. He had a good run after the rest followed up with an amazing win in the Queen’s Plate. And he is even better off with many of the other fancies here that he beat there – he looks very hard to oppose. Don’t stop there, because Tarry’s other runner Gold Onyx will run second. Interestingly, he is the same age as Alastor – when Tarry won the Met last time,” he said.
He added that Gold Onyx never pulled a decent draw and once again he is ‘in the bush’.
“However he did run second last year and with the in-form Khumalo up, will be flying at the finish. Smart Call has top form against the girls but must be respected here with Legislate to fight out 3rd and 4th. Enjoy the race, have fun and don’t drink and drive,” he cautioned.

Nico Kritsiotis – could repay his bond if Krambabmbuli wins
Top racecaller Nico Kritsiotis said that the winner had to be Legal Eagle.
“He is the highest rated horse in the country and he is not carrying the biggest weight! His Queen’s Plate win was out of the top drawer! The danger has to be Smart Call, the filly. She has got better with every run. But number 13 Krambambuli will run better than everyone expects!” he quipped.
Phumelela’s Executive Director of Sports Betting, Vee Moodley , who is known to have a flutter now and again, called it a dead heat – Legal Eagle and Legislate.
Television producer Andrew Bon said that his choice was ‘so boring – but Legal Eagle will win!’

Kenilworth Racecourse will be a hive of activity when it welcomes horse racing enthusiasts, fashion, music and food lovers to celebrate J&B’s 39th anniversary as the sponsor of the J&B Met on Saturday.
This year’s J&B Met is themed “A Rare Blend”.

Vee Moodley – forecasts a dead heat
J&B Met publicist Eddy Cassar said from day one J&B’s story had been about the different and the unexpected coming together and creating something rare, and this was the basis of the theme for this year’s event.
He said the Met had remained the country’s top outdoor social event
“J&B encourages you to think beyond the norm, to create something different and unexpected and wear an outfit that is itself a rare blend, made different just like J&B,” said Cassar.
While our staunch racing experts may not agree. Cassar said one of the highlights of J&B Met day is the J&B Most Elegant Couple competition.
CSquared head designer Wayne Govender said the Met would present an opportunity for gentlemen racegoers to dress to impress. “We have used colours that rarely blend but stand out individually as bold, strong statement colours.
Head designer Richard Huisamen, from the Fashion Collective, said: “We are going for an eclectic mix of colours and fabrics. By using contrasting prints in the same colour, we can create a mix of prints, but can keep the cut of the dress very simple.”
Tickets for the J&B Met cost R125 and are available through Computicket or designated tote offices around Cape Town.
