An outstanding final field of fifteen will face up to the starter for the race every South African breeder wants to win. The R1 million Gr1 Maine Chance Paddock Stakes field is headed by the recent brilliant Calulo Services Premier Trophy winner Beach Beauty. Dennis Drier’s Dynasty mare has drawn 12. 

The top female weight-for-age race in South Africa is sponsored this year for the first time by the top Cape-based stud, Maine Chance Farms.

A powerful visiting contingent is headed by Sean Tarry’s multiple Gr1 winning Australian-bred Happy Archer and Mike De Kock’s  Gr1 Woolavington and recent Flamboyant Stakes winner, Viva Maria.

After Jackson drawing at 13 for the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate, trainer Brett Crawford would have breathed a sigh of relief after his Jet Master Stakes winner Frequent Flyer drew at 2.

Yogas Govender’s Victress Stakes winner Razzle Dazzle Rose has had her heart broken by drawing on the wide outside.
