The Eagle Returns…

Deo Juvente will have big task in title defence

Champion Legal Eagle will get his chance to set the record straight in the R4 million Gr1 Premier’s Champions Challenge as the Sun Met fourth placer is one of 18 horses nominated to run in the big race on Saturday 5 May.

Flashback to 2017 – Deo Juvente (red cap) beats Legal Eagle – Nother Russia is in third on the inside

Tabnews report that his 2017 conqueror Deo Juvente, and third-placed Nother Russia, who was just another short head behind Legal Eagle in the three-horse photo finish last season, are also amongst the entries.

An interesting entry is Majestic Mambo for the Paul Peter yard as the unbeaten three-year-old also looks a strong candidate for SA Triple Crown honours. This entry gives Peter the option of running him in this event or the SA Derby which is run on the same day.
