South African Triple Tiara princess Summer Pudding delivered the showstopping performance of the afternoon at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday when she picked herself up off the canvas from a hopeless position to maintain her seven-from-seven unbeaten record with a scintillating strike in the R325 000 Gr1 Woolavington 2000.
With Warren Kennedy notching his second Gr1 victory of a great day at an admittedly deserted office, Summer Pudding sprouted wings after Bernard Fayd’herbe went for broke on the similarly unbeaten Acacia Handicap winner Lady Of Steel at the 350m.
With stablemate Heart Stwings ensuring a decent gallop, Summer Pudding appeared to be lost at her first time on the Hollywoodbets Greyville turn, with Lady Of Steel storming to what looked like victory – until Summer Pudding decided differently.

Taking off, the smashing athlete lengthened her stride and powered home to beat Driving Miss Daisy (13-1), bidding to give Eric Sands a Gr1 double, by 0,90 lengths in a time of 126,51 secs.

Lady Of Steel (43-20), who had looked a winner, tired late and finished 1,20 lengths back in third.
