The race has been the proving battleground for future sire power for decades and the Selangor Cup, and alternatively the Dingaans run in Johannesburg, is where we initially separate the wheat from the chaff.

A glance at the Selangor Cup honour roll over the past 13 years shows that ten of the top three placers were considered good enough to go on and take up careers as stallions. Some worked, some didn’t.
