Greeff & Cheyne Run Riot At Fairview

A Fine Fairview Friday!

With all the attention focussed on the launch of the SA Champions Season at Greyville and Champions Day at Turffontein, an extraordinary achievement by the champion combination of trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Greg Cheyne passed largely unheralded at Fairview on Friday.

Alan Greeff saddled six winners on the card, five of which were ridden by the Highlands sponsored Greg Cheyne.

Charles Ndlovu rode the second race winner Adalfieri.

The six Greeff winners were:

Seattle Mermaid in the first race (Cheyne)

Adalfieri in the second (Ndlovu)

Thermocline in the third (Cheyne)

Fools Garden in the fifth (Cheyne)

Fire In The Belly in the sixth (Cheyne)

Wish To Land in the seventh (Cheyne)

Greg Cheyne told the Sporting Post that he had ridden five winners ‘ a couple of times’ but that he was still ‘working on a six-timer!’

“Thanks for the wishes. Well done to Alan and the whole team – it is a team achievement,” said Greg Cheyne.
