Green Street’s Beach Party

The stars are out - on a beautiful summer's morning!

Winners aren’t the only perks that come with racing with the Snaiths. How about a beautiful summer’s morning on Muizenberg Beach watching your future star stretch her legs?

Green Street Bloodstock are South Africa’s fastest growing racehorse owner syndication platform and Director Justin Vermaak and prominent GSB owner Steve Bailey were seen out enjoying a morning at the beach with Snaith Racing and their prized filly, Midtown Manhattan.

The 3yo Midtown Manhattan looks very promising – she followed up a storming second on debut by winning her maiden next time of asking by two lengths.

A daughter of Greys Inn out of the Silvano mare, Bergdorf Blonde, she was bought for what looks to be a giveaway R40,000 at the CTS Two-Year-Sale in 2015.

Justin Vermaak commented at the time of her easy win: “Midtown Manhattan is looking for 1600m and looks set to win a good few races. It is always nice to provide our owners with a horse of quality at such a reasonable price.”

Midtown Manhattan races for GSB partners B Welsh, D McGillewie, D Musikanth, G Merven, J Ulcoq, R Padayachee, R Bhagwandin, S Bailey, W Gordon and W Pirzl, all of whom got involved in this promising filly for a small layout.

Midtown Manhattan wasn’t alone at the beach.

Far from the madding crowd! Brett Crawford’s Gr1 winner Captain America and regular rider Corne Orffer

Brett Crawford-trained recent Gr3 Matchem Stakes winner Captain America, who had regular pilot Corne Orffer aboard for the outing, also enjoyed it.

The Silvano colt Black Arthur, a good winner for Justin Snaith of the Gr2 Canon Guineas last term, and who has not seen race action since finishing just off The Conglomerate in the July, was also at the beach party.

All three racers should be in the winner’s enclosure in the next few months.
