Greyville Poly – Back To Best Soon

Refurbishment only completed 24 hours earlier

Concerns were raised by certain stakeholders about the “looseness” of the Greyville Poly track after Wednesday’s race meeting.

Raf Sheik

Gold Circle Racing Executive Raf Sheik explained that the track had been completely refurbished.

Work was completed on Tuesday, 12 February.

“280 tons of new poly was laid at a total cost of R1.8 million, and the track was deep harrowed, uplifted and re-laid, but because the surface had little time to settle and compact, there was a lot of kick-back yesterday” said Sheik.

Peter Morrison of contractors Martin Collins who laid the track said that with the application of water and time, the surface would be back in optimum condition very soon.
