Health Shock For Top Jockey

Jeff Lloyd makes sad announcement

Robbie Fradd – invited to Mauritius

A dual Durban July winner and Hong Kong Champion jockey, 58 year old Durban-born Robbie Fradd is scheduled to undergo triple bypass surgery.

In a media release published by Lloyd Racing Management Services early on Tuesday it is stated that Robbie’s main artery is 90% blocked and he has already suffered a minor heart attack.

Fradd has ridden with success in Mauritius, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Another graduate of the world-renowned SA Jockey Academy, Fradd partnered Barberton for his first career winner for the late Jacky Gorton at Clairwood in 1982.

Fradd relocated his family to Australia in 2014, settling on the Gold Coast.

“I would, as his manager and friend, like to say how incredibly grateful and proud I am to have had the opportunity to ride against and work for such an incredible, talented and strong athlete. I am sure Robbie, and the entire Fradd family, will be in everyone’s thoughts and prayers over the next few weeks,” said his colleague and manager, Jeff Lloyd.
