i was privileged to be at gosforth park that day charlie van booma booted home divine act and striker was on brainteaser..striker had 7 winners that day but divine act blew him away..i was at newmarket when brainteaser won first time out ridden by marwing as mr azzie had a stable mate called moscow man ridden by strydom which everyone thought was the right one of the pair but within 5 minutes they switched positions on bookmaker boards…great memories

Remember Pas de quoi well. Was very unlucky with what happened to him, he could have been a great 3 year old. would have been the sort of horse that could have done well in Dubai and even the UK if was around these days. very versatile.
His derby win was fantastic and was nice to see him come back eventually and win a few more G1 races .
People talk about good and bad generations and his generation must have been a good one . If you include flaming rock in that even though he was N. hemisphere , time , there were many good ones and we’re still winning the big races at 7 or even .8 for Pas de quoi..
Illustrator, Olympic dual, Face North, Pas de quoi, goldmark divine master , flaming rock Spanish Galliard etc. Not sure stats but that generation must have won as many if not more open G1 as any generation,And not just 1 great horse like empress club or Pocket power?

Pity he didn’t make big at stud, great memories.
