Although Kennedy was the standout jockey on yesterday’s card, Marcus managed to maintain his lead with one winner and four places from his five rides.

There were no big moves at the top of the trainers log as Paul Lafferty still leads the charge by 38 points ahead of Hollywoodbets sponsored Garth Puller back in second. Both Lafferty and Puller managed 36 points from their four runners.

Lafferty’s horses still remain dominant in the equine  log as well with his horses Bint El Malak and Explosive Beauty tied in first with 40 points. The two stable companions are eight points clear of third placed Jayden’s Shreya from the Wendy Whitehead yard.

The next leg of the KZN Sizzling Summer Challenge sees racing return to Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday for an eight race programme.
