Sizzling Summer Challenge Enters Home Straight

Kennedy and Puller maintain good leads

The inaugural Hollywoodbets Sizzling Summer Challenge is into the home stretch with the third last meeting in the competition hosting eight races on the Greyville polytrack today.

The penultimate meeting is scheduled for Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday and then the final is at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday evening.

The first race today is off at 12h40.

There is a 75% chance of rain this afternoon and after over 160mm of rain has fallen in the past seven days with last Wednesday’s meeting lost, we hope that all will be in order to get through the card.

Both the jockey and trainer Sizzling Summer Challenge tables have been hard fought from the outset.

With a lead of 30 points over his nearest rival Anton Marcus, Warren Kennedy can build on his position of authority with seven rides today versus Marcus’ four. Keagan de Melo (5 rides today) is over 50 points away in third.

Summerveld -based Garth Puller is favourite to lift the trainer honours and his six runners versus nearest opponent Paul Lafferty’s two, should give him the firepower to enter the final week in a commanding position!
