She’s Had Her Time

Top-performing Time Thief daughter's swansong

Dual Gr1 winner In Her Time (Time Thief-Hell It’s Hot, by Zeditave) will run her final race before retirement at Hawkesbury’s meeting at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, reports racingnsw.com.au.

Trainer Kris Lees has nominated her for both the Gr3 Hawkesbury Crown over 1300m and the Listed Hawkesbury Gold Rush over 1100m, with Hugh Bowman named as rider.

“Under the set weights and penalties conditions of the Crown, she is well treated,” Lees said.

“She didn’t have a gut-busting run last Saturday and has pulled up well. Hopefully, we can send her out a winner.”

Winner of the 2018 Gr1 Galaxy and the 2019 Gr1 Lightning Stakes, In Her Time has a total of nine wins  and is out of a winning half-sister to the dam of Everest winner Yes Yes Yes (Rubick).

Her dam is also a half-sister to stakes winners Hot as Hell (County), Flaming Hot (County) and Craig’s Dragon (Catbird). In Her Time ran fifth over 1200m in the Gr3 Hall Mark Stakes last weekend.

Her sire, the Nadeson Park based Time Thief, who was celebrating his first SA-bred winner, is a ¾ brother to SA Champion Sprinter Laisserfaire,

Time Thief stood his first season at stud in Australia in 2010 and relocated to South Africa in 2015.

An A$2 million yearling buy, Time Thief is one of five stakes horses produced by the Gr3 Tristarc Stakes winning Procrastinate, one of the best broodmares to have graced the Australian paddocks in recent years.

Lees is likely to also accept with Asharani (I Am Invincible-Fuji Dancer, by Fuji Kiseki) for the Crown, but will leave a final decision on In Her Time until after studying the field when acceptances are taken today
