Jockey pleads not guilty

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Gqeberha on 15 July 2021, Jockey Eldin Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.

The particulars being that as the rider of BUSH FEVER, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to HIT FOR SIX at approximately the 1500m, in Race 4 at Fairview Racecourse on 5 July 2021.

Jockey Webber pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board accepted his plea, but found Jockey Webber guilty as charged.

After considering all the evidence in this matter, the Inquiry Board imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days.

Jockey Webber has the Right of Appeal against the finding and penalty imposed.
