Sun Met runner-up and Hollywoodbets Vodacom Durban July second favourite Rainbow Bridge galloped under his big-race rider Warren Kennedy at Hollywoodbets Greyville this morning prior to the racemeeting.

The son of Ideal World cantered from the mile marker with a companion, and galloped from the 1400m.

Trainer Eric Sands said that he was pleased with the way his charge had performed, but felt that the companion had not been quite up to going through with it.

“I’m thankful for the companion. But I would like him to have carried it right through and kept Rainbow Bridge pressed all the way. But we are on track for the Gold Challenge and then into the Durban July.”

The Gold Challenge will be run on 28 June. See entries below
