A great ride

The 20 year old Kaidan Brewer made the best start possible to his brand new Sporting Post sponsorship when riding a confident race to get Mocha Frappe home for Alec Laird and owner Nic Jonsson in the third race at the Vaal on Wednesday.

Having ridden the son of The United States at all of his previous three starts, Kaidan knew what he had under him, and bounced the 3yo into the lead at around the 400m marker of the 1400m contest. The Wilgerbosdrift-Mauritzfontein bred colt kept at his task in good style.

An 11-2 shot, Mocha Frappe held off the favourite Deception Pass (14-10) by a diminishing half length in a time of 83,6 secs.

Meet Kaidan Brewer here.
