Karis Teetan has been given the all-clear to resume raceriding after injuring his right shoulder in a fall.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced on Tuesday that Teetan would resume riding track work and would be ready for the start of the Hong Kong racing season on 6 September.
Teetan injured the shoulder in a fall from Gideon at the Happy Valley race meeting on Wednesday 24 June.
Teetan (25) is Mauritian but was trained in South Africa. He has been based in Hong Kong since August 2013 and won 50 races in his first season there. His second season was not quite as good but he still won 29 races.
Other South African jockeys with contracts to ride in Hong Kong in the new season are multiple Hong Kong champion Dougie Whyte and Richard Fourie as well as South African-born Chad Schofield, who started his riding career in Australia.
