Karis Teetan went very close to completing a hat-trick in the final two races. Riding Jolly Jolly (Paul O’Sullivan) in the final contest, he was narrowly beaten by President Paramount, ridden by Ryan Moore.

In the final race, the Mauritian jockey was on board Easy Hedge (John Size), who was just pipped by Ashkiyr (Joao Moreira).

The feature race – The Chinese New Year Handicap – was won by TheWizardOfOz, ridden by Joao Moreira. Running in 5th position, the John Size-trained horse accelerated brilliantly in the final straight, winning comfortably ahead of Super Lifeline (Sylvester de Sousa). Charles The Great (Ryan Moore) and Apollo’s Choice (Karis Teetan) were 3rd and 4th respectively.

Karis Teetan is sitting in 4th place in the Jockeys’ Premiership, with 28 wins.
