Antonius Pius’ very smart daughter My Sanctuary goes for her third win in a row when she takes on seven opponents in Sunday’s R120 000 King’s Pact Stake run over 1000m at Clairwood.

Duncan Howells’ Highlands Stud bred filly has been the flagbearer for her sire in a flying start to his South African stud career. Howells also sends out the Judpot first timer Along Came Polly, and this is another stallion who has made an early impact.

My Sanctuary has a spotless two from two record and has won her races by an aggregate 9,75 lengths. She has won up to 1200m and looks too strong for the raced opposition here.

Charles Laird sends out a coupling of the debut winner Stylish Virginia, and the nicely bred Captain Al debutante, War Path, who will be ridden by Anton Marcus.

Stylish Virginia won a very nice race on debut, when slow away and making up the leeway to run on well and beat Final Episode by a head.

Anton Marcus jumps aboard the well bred War Path, and as the champion jockey won first time on Stylish Virginia, we may be accurate in concluding that War Path is better.

Chris Erasmus’ Bez Valley looks held by My Sanctuary on her second run, and meets the smart Howells runner on 3 kgs worse terms. Bez Valley will have to improve vastly on her general form.

Dennis Drier trains Caribbean Bay, is another who has two fair runs to her credit.

The daughter of Mullins Bay ran a solid long priced second on debut over the Scottsville 1000m, and then ran freely when following up with a fifth and 3,95 lengths off the winner.

Paul Lafferty owns and trains the Var  filly Garibondy, who cost R340 000 on the National YearlingSale.

Kum Naidoo’s Raat Ri Rani has four ordinary runs on the board, and looks like she is merely making up the numbers.

My Sanctuary looks head and shoulders above her opposition, and she appears to be a safe banker bet all round in the exotics.
