Klawervlei’s well performed young sire, and former European Champion, Twice Over is closely related to one of the most exciting thoroughbreds currently in training in the UK.

The Juddmonte Farms owned and bred Time Test, whose Gr1 winning dam Passage Of Time shares her second dam with Twice Over, gave weight and a beating to seven rivals in Thursday evening’s Gr3 Betvictor Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown.

Given a superb ride by Ryan Moore, Time Test came from the back of his field to defeat high class galloper, and last year’s winner, Western Hymn by a neck –while giving the runner up 5lbs. It was another 4.5 lengths back to third place finisher Scottish.

A four-year- old son of Dubawi, Time Test has now won five of just nine outings, with his victories also including the Gr2 Shadwell Joel Stakes and Gr3 Tercentenary Stakes last year.

His trainer Roger Charlton is now keen for his charge to take part in the Gr1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot, saying after Thursday’s win, “He is a straightforward horse to train, a genuine horse and a real racehorse.”

“He excites me a lot. He did at Ascot last year. Timeform gave him a rather phenomenal rating. They rather nailed their colours to the mast and then downgraded him afterwards. But I think we’re getting back to that sort of level.”

Time Test’s odds for the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes were cut from 10-1 to 5-1 following his win in Thursday’s Gr3 contest.

His close relative Twice Over was an outstanding racehorse whose 12 wins, which netted his connections over £2 million, included four Gr1 victories.

The magnificent Twice Over is well represented at the upcoming Klawervlei Farm Sale, set to take place on June 12th. Twice Over has 11 lots on offer:

Lot 21 – a sister to 3 winners, including Gr3 performer Neartic Dancer, she is out of a winning Western Winter half sister to a Gr3 winner and is from the same family as Horse Of The Year Yard-Arm (by Western Winter) as well as this season’s sensational Triple Crown winner Abashiri

Lot 30 – a half sister to a 3 time winner, this filly is out of a Danzig daughter of an English Oaks runner up, whose full sister is former triple Oaks winner Diminuendo
