At Hollywoodbets Greyville today the usually very social KZN Breeders enjoy their admittedly somewhat restricted annual raceday, with the R500 000 KZN Breeders Mile heading a well patronised hometown card.
After the withdrawal of the July runner, Camphoratus, the feature includes two Gr1 winning fairer sex talents in the 3yo Cape Fillies Guineas winner Missisippi Burning (Captain Al) and recent Empress Club Stakes winner Ronnie’s Candy (King Of Kings).

Grant van Niekerk partners the chestnut Ronnie’s Candy, who has won a Gr1, two Gr2’s and two Gr3 races for stakes in excess of R1,1 million.
But Adam Marcus could hold the ace in the shape of the only 3yo in the line-up, in recent KZN Fillies Guineas winner Missisippi Burning.
The gutsy ball of fire has won her last four on the roll and from a good draw will give cheek to the likes of the Snaith’s very capable Nexus, who flew late in the Cup Trial behind subsequent July hopeful Capoeira in the Cup Trial a fortnight ago.
