KZN Sizzling Summer Challenge Climax This Evening

Jockey log should be a tight call!

Hollywoodbets Greyville hosts a day-night meeting which gets underway at 16h42 today and is the climax of the exciting R1 million Hollywoodbets KZN Sizzling Summer Challenge.

The standings in many of the invidual stakeholder categories are tight and likely to go down to the wire.

While Garth Puller leads the trainer’s log, Summerveld’s veteran lady conditioner Wendy Whitehead has the best average points per runner, or strike-rate as some may call it.

The Jockey challenge log is very close.

With leader Keagan de Melo on the sidelines, Serino Moodley will be hoping to pick up the scraps and launch a challenge.

Serino only has 6 rides this evening and needs 43 points – work out the sums and follow him throughout! De Melo remains top of the jockey leaderboard with 753.5 points.

Serino Moodley holds second place with 701 points ahead of Tristan Godden, who is on 570.5 points.

While SA Champion apprentice Rachel Venniker cannot be caught on the Apprentice log, Siphesihle Hlengwa just needs  a bit of luck to maintain the best average, an achievement which will see him earn an extra R5000 over and above his second place prize cheque.

Miss Venniker remains top of the leaderboard with 681 points with Siphesphile  back in second with 489 points

Interestingly, in the Owner/ Horses category FORTUNE BAY, who runs in the opener, is one of 13 horses in contention that are running this evening, and who could put in a big bid for glory. She has finished second in all five of her outings to date and certainly warrants a reward for her consistency!
