Alyson Wright leads in Mumsy’s Jet (Warren Kennedy) after his most recent win

Trainer Alyson Wright humbled her male colleagues when collecting first cheque of R28 500 in the KZN Winter Challenge Series for trainers of the overall top performing horses in the competition, which ran from 23 January 2015 to 20 May 2015.

The awards for the R50 000 Trainer incentive bonus linked to the challenge were made at Scottsville on Saturday.

Wright’s vastly improved Western Winter gelding Mumsy’s Jet was the overall champion, and while the trainer was thrilled and said that she and husband Kevin had initially ‘planned a holiday’ if they won, that it would ‘probably just go straight back into the yard.’

Craig Eudey’s Discourse helped him bank the R14 000 second cheque, while Colin Scott (Libertine) and Doug Campbell (Fire The Rocket) shared the third cheque of R7 500.
