Miyabi Gold Can Lift Game Today

First off at 12h00

Today’s Greyville meeting reminds us a little bit of the old days. A well patronised Saturday afternoon card on the turf – a far more appetising punting proposition from the seemingly endless all-weather diet that has been fed us in recent years.

Miyabi Gold wins the Gr2 Gold Bracelet at this track last term

The false rail is set at 3m and there is apparently zero percent chance of rain.

Donovan Dillon is not riding.

The first is off at 12h00, with the Bipot starting in race 2 (12h35) and the PA in race 3 (13h05).

While the headliner, the Gr2 WSB 1900 has already been previewed, the support feature is a tricky fillies and mares event.

Weighted, like the WSB 1900, on merit rating bands, the R150 000 Listed East Coast Cup presents a tricky fairer sex contest in the middle of what looks to be a good Pick 6 to win at Greyville this afternoon.

Sabina’s Dynasty is edging back to best

The top-class joint topweight Sabina’s Dynasty has relocated under new part ownership to the in-form Brett Crawford yard and  flew through late in her first run for the top yard when a length behind Miyabi Gold in the Scarlet Lady last time out. That was her first run after she was not persevered with in the Summer Cup and with Ridgemont Highlands jockey Anton Marcus taking the mount, she looks the horse to beat – although her wide draw deters complete confidence.

Miyabi Gold is back in the mix and meets the Crawford mare on 1,5kgs worse terms for a length defeat. A course and distance winner of the Gold Bracelet last term, she remains a serious factor.

The uber consistent Flichity By Farr beat the subsequent Scottsville Sunday winner Our Coys at her penultimate start and is a game filly who has mixed it in the big league with the boys.

Wendy Whitehead’s Twice As Smart tries ground and impressed when disposing of subsequent Gauteng winner Captain Of Tortuga last time out.

Dennis Drier’s smart Dynasty 4yo Perfect Air could be a value inclusion. She needed her first run back from her Cape campaign when staying on for a decent second behind Classic Guard on the Greyville all-weather last month.
