Prince Of Aha!

Four on the trot!

Apprentice Denis Schwarz completed a rare four-timer on the gallant Roy Magner-trained 5yo Prince Of Kahal, when the gelding flashed up in the final strides of the Listed Golden Loom Handicap in the most exciting finish of Charity Mile day.

Under a length separated the top three home in the 1000m dash run in honour of one of our great sprinters, affectionately known as ‘Goofy’.

Prince Of Kahal only knows one way run and that is turning on the jets late – his last four victories having been achieved from 1000m to 1450m in the same fashion.

Relishing the underfoot conditions, Prince Of Kahal (4-1) turned on the jets from lengths back to get the verdict by a  short head from a rejuvenated William The Silent (28-1) with Yvette Bremner’s well travelled PE raider Quinlan (8-1) back in third.

The winner’s time was 57,36 secs.

A son of Kahal (Machiavellian) out of the five-time winning Model Man mare Vogue, Prince Of Kahal was bred by Clifton Stud and was bought for R120 000 at the KZN Yearling Sale.

He has earned  R1 160 788  with his 9 wins and 9 places from 28 starts for long-time South African racing supporter, Hong Kong-based Robert Chung.

He looks like he should pay to follow.
