Readily Availabull booked his place into the field for January’s A$2 million The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic with an outstanding win in Saturday’s A$250,000 Magic Millions 2YO Clockwise Classic at Ballarat.
An A$25,000 purchase from February’s Tasmanian Yearling Sale at Launceston for trainer John Sargent and Mitchell Bloodstock, Readily Availabull charged home late in the race for an impressive win.

The youngster was debuting after two trials in Sydney, the most recent was an impressive win.
The win was celebrated by a large all female ownership group who are eyeing off the A$500,000 Magic Millions Racing Women Bonus as part of the $2 million Classic in January. The 14 ladies enjoyed the perfect start to their ownership of Readily Availabull today.
“It’s a fantastic result,” winning trainer John Sargent said. “I bought this horse down in Tasmania.”
“I got him for A$25,000. I used to buy there quite a while ago and hadn’t been for a few years but went back for the last sale and thought he was a lovely colt.”
“He reminded me of Encountabull who I bought a year earlier by Bull Point.”
“I bought him for a ladies syndicate. My wife, daughter and a lot of friends are in there and I’m sure they’re thrilled with the win.”
“The win has qualified him for the (2YO Classic) race. I was looking at going to Wyong, but we won’t have to go there now.”
“We might now trial him and go straight to the Gold Coast.”
“He’s done his job at the moment. He will come back from Melbourne tomorrow night to my Randwick stables and I will check him out and he can have a nice 10 days off.”
Winning rider Michael Dee was impressed with the attitude of the debut winner.
“What gets him across the line is his temperament,” Dee said. “He’s just a lovely, relaxed colt. That’s going to take him a long way.”
“He can improve, bearing in mind that it’s only his first start. He didn’t have as much speed as the others so that just shows that in time he could get over slightly further and relax and show a good-turn-of-foot.”
A son of the well performer Kingstar Farm stallion Bull Point, Readily Availabull was sold through the draft of Armidale Stud earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Sunlight’s sister Sisstar added another feature win to her resume with a stylish near all the way win in the A$150,000 Magic Millions 3&4YO Classic later in the afternoon.
With Damian Lane in the stable, Sisstar found plenty over the concluding stages to hold out her well credentialled rivals.
An A$600,000 Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase for McEvoy Mitchell Racing and David Redvers from Widden Stud, Sisstar is already a group winner and one of country’s most valuable breeding prospects for the future.
Her full sister Sunlight, a multiple Group One winner who was sold at the Gold Coast a year earlier, recently sold for a Southern Hemisphere record price of A$4.2 million at the National Broodmare Sale.
“She’s always lived in the shadows of Sunlight, but she’s done a fantastic job and she’s already a Group Three winner and worth a lot of money,” co-trainer Calvin McEvoy said.
The Magic Millions Race Series heads to Wyong on December 16 with the running of the $200,000 Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic (RL, 1100m) and $100,000 Magic Millions Wyong 3YO & 4YO Stakes (1200m).
