Charles Savage – good week!
Purple Capital’s CEO Charles Savage is enjoying perhaps the most successful week of his last year. Passsionate about business and horses, his company’s share price hit an impressive 52-week high on his birthday, Friday, while his battling gelding Red Savage pulled off a first win in 17 starts on the very same day.
Owned in partnership with his colleague Brad Leather, Red Savage has had the services of no fewer than eight different jockeys in the last year – Mike de Kock finally found the right race for him at Greyville on Friday evening and Anthony Delpech steered him to his Maiden win in a 2000m contest on the Polytrack at Greyville.
“It’s about more than owning top horses for these guys. They love thoroughbreds and the excitement of the game. Well done to Charles and Brad, they’ve stuck it out with Red Savage,” Mike de Kock commented on Friday evening.
Red Savage – patience rewarded
There are a long list of partners in De Kock’s Vaal debut winner on Thursday, Noah From Goah, a Wilgerbosdrift-bred son of Tiger Ridge and the well-performed Limerick. He won convincingly over 1000m for Mike, Mary Slack, Chris Haynes and Gary Grant, John and Amanda McVeigh, Noeline Malherbe and Gary Westwater.
Mike said about Noah From Goah: “He’s a nice horse, this one, he will win races.”
