These were:-

  • RULE 72.1.26

In that Mr Yeni made comments during a post-race interview on Tellytrack, after the running of the 4th race run at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday 31 July 2019, which might have had the effect of discrediting horseracing and which did or might have brought into disrepute the good name of the NHA.

Jockey Yeni pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Board after considering the evidence found Mr Yeni not guilty of the charge.

  • RULE 72.1.43

In that on 1 August 2019, on a social media platform being Facebook, he posted a comment which could reasonably be construed to be offensive with respect to the NHA.

Jockey Yeni pleaded not guilty to the charge but was found guilty of the charge.

The Board after considering the record, and taking into account the arguments in aggravation and mitigation, ruled that Jockey Yeni be fined the sum of ten thousand rand (R10,000.00), of which five thousand rand (R5000) is suspended for a period of 12 months, provided that Jockey Yeni is not found guilty of a similar offence under this Rule during this period.
