The highest priced colt went for R320 000

The first session of the BSA National 2yo Sale  was completed on Thursday evening with a Captain Al filly topping the billing at R800 000.The highest priced colt went for R320 000.

bsa_national-2yo-sale-masthead-2016-One-Million-TwiceLot 45 , named Lantana Lady, was consigned by Klipdrif Stud and is out of the productive Badger Land mare, Land Of Hope. She was signed for by top breeders Varsfontein Stud, who enjoyed a thrilling feature winning weekend last Sunday at Scottsville.

Varsfontein also played a role in the highest priced colt.

Dean Kannemeyer Racing went to R320 000 for Lot 23, Judd’s Rocket, a son of Judpot out of the Jet Master mare, Jet Flyer, consigned by Varsfontein Stud.

An aggregate of R6 110 000 with an average of R101 833 was achieved. The median price was R60 000 with the always in demand Captain Al leading the sires returns.
