Following speculation on the Africanbettingclan forum early on Wednesday, 1 July 2015, it has been confirmed that Michael Varney has resigned from his position as National Marketing Manager – Racing It’s A Rush.

Chatting to the Sporting Post earlier today, Varney confirmed “After nearly three and half years with Phumelela I am moving on. It has been an incredible experience and I have certainly enjoyed engrossing myself in the sport.”

He continued, “I will be moving into another entity within the sports industry which I am excited about. I will always look back at my time within the sport with great fondness and am very grateful for the experience I have gained through Phumelela. There are various stakeholders within the sport including, owners, trainers, jockeys, our sponsors, the RA and my colleagues who have made this an unforgettable and valuable experience. I will continue to evangelise about the sport and will certainly be no stranger to our racecourses.”
