Ideal World has 13 yearlings at Nationals

Mauritzfontein Stud’s exciting young stallion Ideal World (one of the best bred sires currently standing in South Africa) was represented by his first winner this weekend. His 2yo son Super Glue, bred and owned by Mauritzfontein, broke his maiden in eye catching fashion, when winning over the tough 1450m course at Turffontein.

Out of the high-class Plugged Nickle mare Rawl Plug, Super Glue ran third on debut to subsequent Gr3 Protea Stakes winner Isphan, and looks a smart sort in the making.

From just a handful of runners, Ideal World has been represented by 4 horses who have either won or finished in the money. His promising start comes as no surprise, however, as Ideal World sports a superb pedigree.

A Group 2 placed stakes winner, Ideal World is one of over 80 stakes winners sired by Mr Prospector’s French classic winning son Kingmambo (himself a half-brother to leading SA sire Judpot). Kingmambo’s stars include champions Henrythenavigator, El Condor Pasa, Russian Rhythm, Divine Proportions (dam of SA sire Eightfold Path), Rule Of Law, and Lemon Drop Kid. His successful sire sons include King’s Best, Lemon Drop Kid, and the highly promising US based Thewayyouare.

Ideal World is out of Eclipse Champion Banks Hill, whose five wins included the Gr1 Breeders Cup Filly & Mare Turf of 2001. She is also the dam of outstanding Group One winner Romantica, winner of the G1 Prix Jean Romanet and second in the 2013 Gr1 Breeders Cup Filly & Mare Turf.

In turn, Banks Hill is an own sister to outstanding sire Dansili, and she is one of five Grade One winners produced by Broodmare Of The Year Hasili.
