Kahal – sire of 19 Gr1 horses

One of South Africa’s most consistent sires, Kahal has been represented by five stakes horses this season, including the top-class mare Classic Illusion.
Currently eighth on the general sires log (ahead of the likes of Trippi, Fort Wood and Judpot), Kahal is the sire of 32 stakes winners to date.
Kahal’s offspring include a staggering 19 individual Grade One horses – with his best runners being the Gr1 winners Love Struck, Noble Heir, Desert Links, Spiced Gold and Chocolicious.
To date, Kahal’s offspring have earned in excess of R68 million. Always popular in the sales ring, Kahal’s yearlings have fetched up to R2 millon.

Lot 15 is a half-brother to a winner. This colt is out of a winning half-sister to Gr1 Summer Cup placed Rudi Rocks, and second dam is Gr3 winner Rosey Rapids.

Lot 23 is an own sister to two top-class fillies in Eastern Greeting and Kalaam –who finished 1-2 in the Gr2 Camellia Stakes of 2013 . Her three time winning dam is a half-sister to G1 winning 2yo Fez.

Lot 51 is a filly out of a stakes winning half-sister to Gr1 Cape Fillies Guineas winner Indiscreet Fantasy and 2 other stakes horses. Definitely a filly for the short list.

Lot 52 is a colt whose dam was a stakes placed half-sister to Gr1 winner Garb Of Guise.

Lot 75 is a filly out of a four time winner by world leading broodmare sire Saumarez. Her second dam was a stakes winning Elliodor mare, and this filly hails from the family of champion filly Hammer Belle.

Lot 76 is a filly whose Fort Wood sired dam is a half-sister to the Grade One pair of Bold Ellinore and Emperor Napoleon (both sired by Kahal). Thus, this filly is a sister in blood to champion filly Bold Ellinore.

Lot 78 is a filly whose dam was G3 placed and won four, and is a half-sister to a stakes winner. This well bred filly is closely related to Gr1 winning siblings Zirconeum and Stellite.

Lot 101 is a filly whose dam is a half-sister to three stakes winners, including the dam of top sprinter Royal I.Q. and this is also the family of current filly star, Jet Aglow.

Lot 120 is a brother to five winners, including smart stakes winner Alejate. His three time winning dam is a daughter of champion broodmare sire Northern Guest and top filly Frisky. This colt is bred on the potent Kahal/Northern Guest which has excelled in South Africa.

Lot 156 is a colt, whose dam is a winning half-sister to a stakes placed winner of six. His second dam was G3 placed, and his first two damsires are Jet Master and Fort Wood.

Lot 236 is a half-brother to a winner and his dam is a Northern Guest half-sister to Kahal’s G1 winning daughter, Spiced Gold.

Lot 247 is a half-brother to 3 winners, including G3 King’s Cup hero Thunder Creek (by Martinelli). His second dam was second in the Gr1 Paddock Stakes and is a daughter of top broodmare sire Secret Prospector.

Lot 254 is a colt out of a three time winning half-sister to Gr1 winner Pick Six and Kahal’s stakes daughter Saucy Savannah. Bred on the same Kahal/Rambo Dancer cross as G1 winner Love Struck.

Lot 255 is a filly out of a mare who was placed in the Oaks. She is from the same family as US G1 winning filly Tango Dancer.

Lot 260 is a half-sister to a winner, and out of a Kingmambo half-sister to G2 Park Hill Stakes winner Meeznah. She is from the same family as successful sire Casey Tibbs as well as the G1 performers Dilshaan and Sarah Lynx.

Lot 333 is a superbly bred colt. He is a half-brother to 5 winners, including US Gr1 winner Gypsy’s Warning and high-class G2 winning sprinter Surabi. His dam is a full sister to two SA Oaks winners. One to watch!

Lot 334 is a half-brother to 5 winners, which include top fillies Extra Zero and Negev. This is an outstanding international family whose members include G1 winners Maroof and Desert King – both successful sires.

Lot 344 is a brother to five winners, from a great family. His dam is a half-sister to 3 stakes winners including Secret Heart (dam of Breeders Cup winner Pluck) and champion Promisefrommyheart (dam of top current runner Master Of My Fate).

Lot 362 is a colt out of a stakes winning mare from the family of Kahal’s outstanding Gold Cup winning son Desert Links. Another from a great international family.

Lot 400 is a colt out of Equus Champion and Gr1 winner Legally Blonde, and is a full brother to 2 winners. His dam is by top broodmare sire Qui Danzig – damsire of the likes of Via Africa and Pierre Jourdan.

Lot 412 is an own brother to former Gr2 Emerald Cup hero Look Sharp, and a half-brother to stakes winner Lt Jerry Mouse. Another bred on the powerful Kahal/Northern Guest cross.

Lot 437 is a filly out of a National Assembly half-sister to G3 winning filly Mighty Doll. This a tremendous filly family – with stars as such as champion Dancewiththedevil, as well as G1 winners Mill Hill and Smart As Paint.

Lot 456 is a full sister to stakes winning millionaire Mannequin. She is out of a winning daughter of top sire Model Man and G1 placed mare Kal Sufi.

Lot 474 is a half-sister to 3 winners, including high-class G3 winner Madrisa. Her dam was Graded Stakes placed, while second dam was a Gr3 winner, who placed in 3 Gr1 contests.

Lot 486 is a half-sister to 5 winners, including the stakes winners Dance At Daylight and Mr Mickey Mouse. Her dam is a winning half-sister to champion filly Warning Zone, and this is the family of G1 winners Golden Peak and Record Edge.
