Interference – Devin Habib Suspended

Has right of appeal against penalty and finding

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held at Turffontein Racecourse on Saturday 27 April 2019, Jockey Devin Habib was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.

This arose in that as the rider of RUNNING BRAVE he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to OH SUSANNA (AUS) in the concluding stages of Race 7 run at the Turffontein Racecourse on Saturday 13 April 2019.

Jockey Habib pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board found Jockey Habib guilty of the charge and imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days.

Jockey Habib has the Right of Appeal against both the penalty and the finding.
