NHA: Interference – Zechner Warned

Pleaded not guilty to the charge

National Horseracing AuthorityThe National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Port Elizabeth on 1 August 2016, Jockey Karl Zechner was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of GALLACTIC THUNDER he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SEATTLE PRINCE and SOVIET COSMONAUT approaching the 1000m in Race 4 at Fairview on 4 July 2016.

 Jockey Zechner pleaded not guilty to the charge.

 The Board found Jockey Zechner guilty of the charge and imposed a penalty of a warning.

 Jockey K Zechner has the Right of Appeal against the finding and the penalty imposed.
