Jockey Veale has the right of appeal against severity of the penalty imposed

Petite Master gv 11 mayAt an inquiry held in Durban on 31 May 2016, Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of COASTAL SPELL, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horse MISSION RAPIDS (A Forbes) when shifting out at approximately the 200 metre mark in Race 7 at Greyville Racecourse on the 25 May 2016.

Jockey Veale pleaded guilty and was found guilty of the charge.

The Board having considered all the evidence, suspended Jockey Veale from riding in races for a period of seven days.

Jockey Veale has the right of appeal against severity of the penalty imposed.
