Oratorio – Japan Sale Representatives

Pair of group-winning daughters on sale

Avontuur’s international Group-winning sire Oratorio could be set to make a splash as a broodmare sire, with two of his group winning daughters set to be represented at the 2020 JRHA’s Select Sale.

The Oratorio sired Cherry Collect, Italy’s Champion 3YO of 2012, has a filly by top Japanese sire Heart’s Cry on offer.

A high-class athlete, Cherry Collect won eight times with her wins including a pair of classic triumphs namely the Gr2 Oaks D’Italia (Italian Oaks) and Gr3 Premio Regina Elena (Italian 1000 Guineas). She won or placed in seven group or listed races.

Cherry Collect’s paternal half-sister Esentepe is doubly represented at the Select Sale this year, with Esentepe having a yearling filly by Satono Aladdin, and a colt foal by Kizuna on offer (Both Satono Aladdin and Kizuna are Gr1 winning sons of legendary Japanese champion, and sire, Deep Impact).

Esentepe, who was sold for 525 000 guineas at the 2014 Tattersalls December Breeding Stock Sale when in foal to Frankel, won three times with her most notable triumph coming in the 2012 GrTwso3 Nell Gwyn Stakes.

The 2020 JRHA (Japan Racing Horse Association) is set to take place on July 13th-14th this year, with 258 yearlings and 239 foals catalogued for the sale.
