Dream On Boy

Night time is the right time!

Trainer Louis Goosen has a trio of runners in the 1000m R120 000 Pinnacle Plate under the lights at the Turffontein night meeting on Tuesday and described it as a quality field and a tough race to win, despite his strong hand.

“It is difficult to stick my neck out but I’d say that One Man’s Dream is the best of my three here although it will be a close run race, and Bad Boy Buddy Boy is in decent form,” said the always forthcoming Goosen, who is splitting himself between his Joburg and Cape string at the moment.

Andrew Fortune rides One Man’s Dream, who has been campaigning in strong company at his last few starts, without being disgraced.

The son of Greys Inn was beaten only 3 lengths by subsequent Merchants winner Brutal Force at his penultimate start and then ran marginally below that form when 3,45 lengths behind the Ramsden runner last time. He only needs to recapture his earlier paces and holds Moofeed on that.

The year younger Bad Boy Buddy Boy is a game and consistent sort who never runs a bad race.

He was a winner everywhere but the line last time when nabbed late by Captured Wind – who flopped next time out – but is a fellow with problems.

Mike De Kock’s pair of Moofeed and Tiger Territory are both top-class sprinting types at best after the latter’s below par effort in the Merchants (he is held by One Man’s Dream on that), we’d consider Moofeed the stronger.

The son of Duke Of Marmalade is still an entire and had some very decent KZN sprint form during Champions Season.

His two runs this season have not caught the eye – although the extra ground of the Joburg Spring Challenge last time may not have suited him.

The 8yo Uncle Tommy carries top weight and his recent racing has been confined to sand and polytrack.

8yo Uncle Tommy may find this a touch fast

He is a dogged galloper with the heart of a lion and his early turf form in the Cape was commendable.

It must be of some concern that he looks to have lost some toe with age – and this has been confirmed by his late finishing efforts. He will probably lacking a length or two early on.

The balance of the Goosen runners Varbration (not striding out last time) and the only filly in the race in Seventh Symphony, have place prospects at best.

Night Time is The Right Time

The highly anticipated Turffontein Night Racing, presented by The Citizen, are occasions with a terrific atmosphere. Phumelela confirmed that crowds are growing and plenty of interest is expected in the December meets – on Tuesday and then in a fortnight on 29 December.

On Tuesday there will be a Steakhouse Buffet available in the Furious Room  at just R165 per person.

Not forgetting the popular City Deck Coffee Shop where you enjoy a meal for less than R50 per person, on a first come first serve basis, whilst enjoying one of the most spectacular views of the city track.
