Top-class 3yo Rabada has transferred to the Brett Crawford yard. The smart son of Brave Tin Soldier was recently runner-up to the hardknocking older gelding No Worries in the KZN Million Mile and was subsequently withdrawn from the Vodacom Durban July.

The Summerhill bred gelding, who races in the silks of South African champion owners Ingrid and Markus Jooste, who celebrated a remarkable Vodacom Durban July success with The Conglomerate on Saturday, was conditioned through a multiple Gr1 winning 2yo and 3yo career by top Gauteng trainer Mike Azzie – and was also seen as a major contender for top honours in the July.

Eyebrows were raised when Rabada was accepted to run in the KZN Million Mile and the July – and after running second in the energy sapping Mile just six days prior to the July, was pulled out of the big race on Wednesday 29 June.

Crawford runs a powerful yard from Phillipi in the Cape but only brought a small string to KZN for the SA Champions Season.

His biggest success recently has been with Alexis who won the Gr2 Tibouchina Stakes.

Crawford also won a Listed Handicap with longshot Sail South on July day.
