Rampant Ritchie Back In Action Today

First due off @ 12h30

The Easter weekend begins with today’s local racemeeting taking place at Fairview on the polytrack.

An eight-race programme has been carded for this afternoon with the first due off at 12h30 and the lucky last set for 16h35.

Don’t forget to take the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge.

The meeting hails the return to action of national log-leader Richard Fourie after a short break.

Richard has eight rides carded today, and he told the Sporting Post earlier this week that he was going to come back, ‘bigger and better’. Use it – don’t use it, but don’t say we didn’t tell you.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer Gavin Smith sends out King Of Queen in Race 1 and he should give punters a good start to the day.

He has finished second in his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1400m on this course.

His penultimate run when second over this distance on the turf track was eye-catching.

He jumps from a good draw of three and can shed his maiden tag.

Nyali Beach from the Alan Greeff stable takes her place in Race 4. She showed very good improvement in her local debut over 1000m on the turf.

The way she finished off her race that day was encouraging. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and should love the rise to 1600m.

She jumps from a handy draw of four and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

  • Race: 6 – #2 Gimme’s Laddie had a 338 day break due to being rested after a change in stable yards.
  • Race: 6 – #6 Queen’s Wood had a 164 day break due to a bilateral epistaxis suspension.
