Gauteng-based Callan Murray and Cape rider Grant van Niekerk have been granted a part-season Club Jockey’s licence for the 2018/2019 racing season to commence on 16 July 2018 and to expire on 17 February 2019, both dates inclusive.

A year ago Murray, a former SA Champion Apprentice, won Hong Kong’s Gr3 Sha Tin Vase on the 88/1 rank outsider, Lucky Year at only his third meeting in a stint there. He also spent time in Australia.

Van Niekerk, who won this year’s Sun Met on Snaith champion Oh Susanna, will be making his Hong Kong debut.
